Demand Response (Dial-A-Ride)

Essential Service

The City of Rock Hill and York County jointly support a demand response transportation service known as
pdf_buttonYork County Access. This service, frequently referred to as “Dial-A-Ride,” arranges for vehicles to pick-up and drop-off passengers within rural York County and the City of Rock Hill. The operating schedule for this service is Monday thru Friday from 6:00am to 6:00pm, with a one-way fare costing $2.50. Riders who would like to use this service need to call the York County Council on Aging at least two days in advance to reserve a seat.

Ride-To-Work Service

This service provides Ride-To-Work bus service for Rock Hill area residents. You must schedule your ride at least 1 day in advance, but you may reserve your ride for the indefinite future.

OPERATING HOURS: Monday through Friday, 5:30 am to 9:00 am, and 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
One-way fare: $2.50.

Demand Response (Dial-A-Ride)

The Lancaster Area Ride Service is a joint effort of local nonprofit organizations committed to making Lancaster County residents mobile.  All Lancaster County residents of any age needing transportation are eligible.  The service is operated by the Lancaster County Council on Aging with funding from South Carolina Department of Transportation and Lancaster County.  The operating schedule for this service is Monday thru Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm.  Trips within Lancaster County cost $2.00 each way, trips to and from Rock Hill cost $5.00 each way, and trips to and from Columbia or Charlotte cost $10.00 each way.  Riders who would like to use this service need to call the Lancaster County Council on Aging at least three business days in advance to reserve a seat.  Please call (803) 285-6956 or visit the link below for more information.

82X Rock Hill Express

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) offers weekday express bus service from downtown Rock Hill with stops at White Street in downtown Rock Hill, Manchester Village, Baxter Village, and Cabela’s Drive (Carowinds) to uptown Charlotte.

CATS also offers weekday express bus service to the LYNX I-485 Station from Wells Fargo on Stateview Blvd in Fort Mill.  This route has stops at Wells Fargo in Fort Mill and the Southpoint Business Park in North Carolina.

Rock Hill My Ride Fixed Route Transit Service

The City of Rock Hill My Ride bus system offers four free bus routes traveling along key corridors in Rock Hill.  The four routes are as follows: Route 1 – Downtown / Knowledge Park Loop, Route 2 – Saluda / Heckle Loop, Route 3 – Cherry / Riverwalk Line, Route 4 – Dave Lyle / Galleria Line.  Daily services will be provided, with hours ranging from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Saturday and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sunday.  Buses are outfitted with free WIFI, mobile charging ports for cell phones, bicycle racks, and infotainment screens.  All buses are ADA compliant with features such as wheelchair ramps, automatic voice annunciation systems, destination and route signs, and priority seating with wheelchair securement systems.  You can view maps, schedules, and additional information for the My Ride Services by clicking here.
